Dia daoibh gach duine/ Hello to you all.
Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Remember you can only do your best, I know it’s not school so be gentle on yourself. Keep a routine but don’t be rigid about it if it doesn’t work out. I know some children are wearing their school uniforms for part of the day and they realise this is time for work. Keep maybe sos time and lunch as they were at school if this makes it easier. Remember also that there are lots of excellent resources online, a lot of the links we have on our website covers areas of literacy and numeracy. Listen to the daily stories in Irish which come up. Don’t forget that you can find lots of audio books and ebooks at www.librariesni.org.uk. and hopefully your child can complete an AR quiz about it.
Go into seomra nuachta and/or Newsdesk and read the current stories that are uploaded daily.
Bake with your child, many of you bought the cookery book 'Cócaireacht don Óige' a bilingual cookery book. Get your child, age depending, to read the recipes in Irish, get them to measure out the ingredients etc. Keep practicing the daily prayers with your child, many of you also bought the Irish prayer book, let your child read through them.
You are all doing a great job.
The most important thing is to stay safe, follow the PHA guidelines- keep your distance, wash your hands properly and follow the cough etiquete, keep contact to a minimum if possible.
